Yoga & Winter Walking Retreat in North Wales

a pause before the rush of christmas

This is a midweek retreat to step out of the pre Christmas noise and slow right down. The days find an easy rhythm: yoga to start and close each day, a gentle guided walk in the Clwydian Hills, and long afternoons by the fire with nothing you have to do.

The yoga and breathwork is open to all levels, a morning flow to wake the body, a restorative evening practice to unwind, with breath work woven through to settle the mind and steady the breath. The walking is just as unhurried: crisp air, quiet trails and big winter views, never a hard climb. And for anyone who'd like to, there's the woodland pond for an optional guided cold dip, with a fire waiting afterwards.

It's a small group, gently led, in a converted barn made for winter, exactly the kind of reset that lets you arrive at Christmas feeling clear and calm rather than frazzled.

This North Wales yoga & walking retreat is for you if:

  • You want to slow down and reset before Christmas
  • You'd like gentle winter walks, not a hard hike
  • You enjoy yoga, or want to come back to it, with no pressure
  • You are curious about cold water therapy
  • You enjoy times of rest and activity in equal measure
  • You want a small, friendly group
  • You want to feel calm, rested and clear-headed for the season ahead

  • FAQ

Do I need to be fit or experienced to come?

No. The walks are gentle and unhurried, with plenty of stops and nothing strenuous. If you can manage a steady walk on your feet, you'll be fine.

    Is the cold water compulsory?

Not at all. The cold dip is completely optional and gently guided. Plenty of guests skip it and enjoy the woodland and fire instead.

Is this suitable for beginners in yoga?

Yes. Every session is open to all levels and you go at your own pace. Nothing is compulsory.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely, many guests do, and the small group makes it easy to feel at home.

    What should I bring?

Warm layers, a waterproof, comfortable walking shoes or boots, and swimwear and a towel if you'd like to try the cold dip. We send a full kit list on booking.

    What if the weather changes?

We walk in most weather and adjust the day to suit it. There's always the fire and the yoga space to come back to.

    Will I have free time?

Yes. Afternoons leave space to rest, walk the grounds, book a treatment or sit by the fire.
