We love Kelly’s chocolate cake. It is so rich and chocolatey with a squeeze of lemon for a citrus tang. Perfect with your favourite cuppa.

Ingredients

Dry

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup brown sugar / coconut sugar


Wet

  • 100g dark vegan chocolate
  • 1 cup plant based milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • Squeeze lemon juice


Method

  • Preheat oven to 180 DC
  • Mix all dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl
  • Mix all wet ingredients together in a mixing bowl
  • Mix wet with dry ingredients together and transfer to a cake tin.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes
  • Allow to cool.
