Finnish Lapland · Inside the Arctic Circle
Finland
Snow-hushed forest, frozen lakes and long blue twilights, around the village of Äkäslompolo beneath the Ylläs fells.

Why Lapland
Where the world goes quiet
High in Finnish Lapland, well inside the Arctic Circle, winter is something you feel in every breath. Forest and frozen lake stretch out in every direction, the air is sharp and clean, and the snow muffles almost every sound.
Days move at the pace of the light. In February the sun is climbing back after midwinter, the snow is deep and reliable, and the long blue hour before dark is one of the most beautiful things you will ever see.
The place
Snow, silence and the aurora
Deep, reliable snow
Fells, frozen lakes and pine forest under a thick blanket of snow from December to April.
The returning light
Short, golden days and long blue twilights as the sun climbs back after the polar night.
The Northern Lights
February is one of the strongest months of the year for the aurora, with dark, clear skies far from any town.

Where we stay
A forest cabin in Lapland

Experiences in Finland
Arctic adventure, gently held

Husky sledding
Meet the dogs at a small, family-run farm and learn to drive your own sled. Then you're off through snowy forest and across open ground, with guides alongside you all the way, so first-timers feel at ease.

Sauna & ice dip
The sauna is the heart of the week, wood-fired and warming you right through after a day outside. When you're ready, take a guided dip in the frozen lake, then straight back into the heat. Always your choice.

Snowshoeing
Head into silent pine forest and up onto the open fells with experienced local guides. It's easy, unhurried walking, with time to stop for the views, the light and the animal tracks in the snow.

Yoga by the fire
Each day opens with a vinyasa flow to warm the body and closes with a slow restorative session as the light fades. Both are led by Laura in the cabin's living room, open to all levels and always gently guided.

Guests in Lapland
“Every detail was perfectly planned – the location, the food, the excursions. It was nice to interact with the locals during the dog sledding, snowshoeing, reindeer ride and sauna/cold plunge experiences.”
“From the husky ride to the ice lake dip and saunas, every moment felt surreal in the best way. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already talking about when we can do this again.”
