We chose these dates to capture the freshness and vitality of the landscape at this time of year, a perfect backdrop for rest, reflection, and new beginnings.

    Your retreat home is Telfit Farm, a beautifully restored farmhouse in the heart of Swaledale. Set within 50 acres of private land, it combines rustic charm with modern comforts. Bedrooms are comfortable, with private or shared options. Lounges and corners to unwind. Windows frame sweeping hills, your peaceful haven after yoga and walks.

    Walking is central to this retreat, with guided routes into the Yorkshire Dales. From gentle riverside strolls to moorland climbs with sweeping views, each walk encourages mindful movement. You will love feeling active and free in this stunning landscape, especially when your walk is followed by a cool river dip and some time in the hot tub.

  • YOGA

    Yoga on this retreat is led by Melanie May, a yoga teacher for over a decade, known for her warm and holistic approach.


    Open to all levels, each day includes a morning embodied flow to gently awaken the body, and an evening yin and restorative practice to help you fully unwind.


    Melanie’s style blends mindful movement, elemental yin yoga, breath, and seasonal practices to create classes that feel both grounding and deeply nourishing.


    Alongside her yoga teaching, Melanie is also a sound facilitator with a background in massage, bringing a calm and nurturing energy to the retreat experience.


  • WELLNESS

    SAUNA 

    A small sauna is there for use throughout the retreat, taking 3 people at a time its a quiet place to unwind


    HOT TUB

    In the afternoon, you return to your private hot tub session. Much needed warmth after the walk (and river dip), allowing your body to soften and your whole system to reset.


    MASSAGE

    To make your retreat even more restorative, massage treatments will also be available. Whether you choose a deep tissue massage or something slower and more calming, each treatment is designed to help you fully unwind and leave feeling deeply rested.

  • EAT

    This retreat features a plant-based menu designed to support recovery and nourish your body after each day.


    To ensure the highest standard, our Zest Life chef Kimberly Parsons will be joining us, preparing fresh, seasonal meals that are both delicious and energising. 


    Expect vibrant dishes that refuel you after time outdoors. All of our retreats are alcohol-free. All meals are included on this retreat.

    The nearest station is Darlington, with direct links from London and major UK cities, followed by a short taxi transfer to the house.

  • FAQ

    Do I need to be fit or experienced to come?

    No. The walks are chosen to be accessible and are taken at a comfortable pace with plenty of stops. If you can manage a steady few hours on your feet, you'll be fine.


    How long and hard are the walks?

    Gentle to moderate, beautiful coast and lower mountain paths, not a summit climb. Distances are manageable and routes flex to the group and the weather.


    Is this suitable for beginners in yoga?

    Yes. Every session is open to all levels and you take it at your own pace. Nothing is compulsory.


    Can I come on my own?

    Absolutely, many guests do, and the small group makes it easy to feel at home.


    Is it women-only?

    No, this is a mixed retreat and everyone is welcome.


    What should I bring?

    Comfortable walking shoes or boots, layers and a waterproof. We send a full kit list on booking.


    What if the weather changes?

    We walk in most weather and adjust routes to suit the day. There's always the option to stay back and enjoy the gardens and yoga.


    Will I have free time?

    Yes. Afternoons leave space to rest, walk the grounds, sit by the river or book a treatment..
